Pahari means "of the hills." The painting tradition that carries that name grew in the small kingdoms along the Himalayan foothills — Kangra, Basohli, Guler — between the 17th and 19th centuries. Where Mughal painting was imperial and grand, Pahari was intimate. It painted longing. Quiet conversations by still water. The moment just before something is said.
That world lives on this tray. Printed across clear acrylic, brought into the Desi home not as a museum piece but as something present and daily. 11" x 17". Assembled in the USA.
